FAQs
Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time, or have had a number of experiences working with therapists, starting something new always comes with questions.
I am a licensed counseling psychologist (LP6985) based in Minnesota. I currently provide virtual individual and couples therapy to adults who reside in the state of Minnesota or 42 PSYPACT-member states. At this time, I am unable to offer in person sessions and do not offer therapy services for children or families. Additionally, I am unable to provide crisis support outside of session.

Insurance
I am in-network with Aetna and Optum insurance plans for residents of Minnesota. To find a full list of the insurance subsidiaries I accept and to determine your eligibility to use in-network benefits, visit my Alma provider page. For clients residing outside the state of Minnesota, I can only accept private pay at this time.
Private Pay
While it might be a larger investment to pay for therapy services privately, there are also a number of advantages.
First, I am a member of PSYPACT, meaning that I am able to see clients based in 42 PSYPACT-member states. This can be ideal for college students I work with who might spend the academic year in a different state than where they are located for the summer or holiday breaks. This is also an advantage for clients who travel frequently for work or for pleasure and don't want frequent interruptions to their therapy.
Another advantage of private pay options is increased privacy. Insurance companies have a right to request records and information regarding diagnosis and treatment progress. For clients who pay privately, this information can remain confidential.
Private pay also allows clients to work with therapists who are highly specialized in a particular area. I am an expert in treating college student mental health concerns and have specialized training working with marriage, partnership, dating, and relationship concerns.
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
If I am out-of-network with your insurance provider, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement at the end of each month. To determine If you are eligible for out-of-network benefits, you will need to contact your insurance company directly. Here are some questions to ask:
• Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health coverage? If so, what percentage is covered?
• Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and how much of it have I met?
• How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
• What is the reimbursement for CPT code 90837?
Payment Options
I accept all major debit, credit, HSA, and FSA cards.
